About

Present
Hi, my name is Lama Al Jallal and I'm a ceramicist working in Kuwait.
My journey with clay started during Covid amongst many other potters, and it stuck — hard. It gradually started on TIkTok after slowly building a following through experimenting with different styles and types of clay, and the more I worked with the material the more I fell in love. There is something so very magical about taking a little chunk of earth and turning it into something completely different by my very own hands.
Currently, my focus is on one off sculptures and homeware with themes surrounding the earth, the sea, and my emotions relating to them. If you're interested in obtaining anything keep a look out on my instagram page where I'll make any announcements of when work is to be sold via my online shop. Or sign up to my mailing list, as I often give advanced warning of when my shops will be live there.

Past
My first ever internship was at From Mud, a clay studio based in kuwait, where I studied under the teachings of Aisha Al-Saif, familiarized myself with all types of clay, glazes, and the different processes that come along with them. I also created plaster molds from scratch, mixed glazes from powder form, and exceeded in wheel throwing and assisted around workshops as junior instructor.
More recently, I'm a part time instructor at Clay Therapy Studio where I teach my beginner throwing classes.
